On June 27 (the day of my birthday, lol) is the inauguration of Gallery That in Hong Kong, and they've invited me to participate in this opening with 10 of my artworks. Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. Photo from Wikipedia Commons. I already sent the artworks to Hong Kong and they have arrived. I have been reading things about Hong Kong, and as a curiosity:
According to Chinese tradition, 2010 is the year of the Golden Tiger, that means that it is the year of courage and success through effort. This year is being good for me :) I made two artworks specially for this exhibition. I am a big admirer of the Asian culture. For me it's an honor to make this exhibition. Those who read my blog you know that I made many articles dedicated to China, and this exhibition means very much for me. Chinese Dragon Between Bamboos by Emma Alvarez In this work I wanted to join a sumi-e background that evokes the ancient tradition, with a Chinese dragon. For all those who like mythology, you can read more about Chinese dragons in my article "Chinese dragons". Panda In The Bamboo Forest by Emma Alvarez In this work I wanted to show the beauty of bamboo forests, remembering the magic and color of China's landscapes, like those that I show you in the article "Stunning China Landscapes". So if some of you are near Hong Kong in June 27, the exhibition will last for a month. I encourage you to drop by the gallery and you will see my artworks live. -Emma Alvarez- © 2008 by Emma Alvarez. Amazing and exciting news, Emma! Is there any way you might go? Congratulations--you and your art deserve this!
Not, Steph, I cannot go, but the most important of me will be there. Thank you for your support friend :)
I may not be able to make this, though I would dearly love to. I certainly agree that this is your year. Congratulations, again, on your hard work and devotion to the arts. The two pieces you did for this exhibition are wonderful! My blessings to you, dear lady.
Su
