Next Exhibition In Hong Kong!!!

On June 27 (the day of my birthday, lol) is the inauguration of Gallery That in Hong Kong, and they've invited me to participate in this opening with 10 of my artworks.

Gallery That is located at the Superluck Inds Center in Sha Tsui Road, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong.
Founded in 2010, their purpose is to be a showcase of the most remarkable artists worldwide.

Gallery That is sponsored by Artrendnow (http://www.artrendnow2.com/), a company whose mission is to provide the most updated related art information, and operates in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London.

I have seen photos of Tsuen Wan, and it's an absolutely awesome bay.

I already sent the artworks to Hong Kong and they have arrived.

I have been reading things about Hong Kong, and as a curiosity:
  • Life expectancy in Hong Kong is one of the highest in the world.

  • Hong Kong is one of the world's leading financial centers, and the main financial center of China.

  • Hong Kong is, after New York, the city in the world with more number of skyscrapers, and 4 of them are amongst the tallest in the world.

  • Famous Chinese actors like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Chow Yun-fat grew and made their careers in Hong Kong.
I'm really excited with this exhibition. I don't know if you noticed, but in the day of my birthday I will exhibit in Morocco and Hong Kong at the same time, and this is so nice...

According to Chinese tradition, 2010 is the year of the Golden Tiger, that means that it is the year of courage and success through effort. This year is being good for me :)

I made two artworks specially for this exhibition. I am a big admirer of the Asian culture. For me it's an honor to make this exhibition. Those who read my blog you know that I made many articles dedicated to China, and this exhibition means very much for me.

Chinese Dragon Between Bamboos by Emma Alvarez

In this work I wanted to join a sumi-e background that evokes the ancient tradition, with a Chinese dragon. For all those who like mythology, you can read more about Chinese dragons in my article "Chinese dragons".

In this work I wanted to show the beauty of bamboo forests, remembering the magic and color of China's landscapes, like those that I show you in the article "Stunning China Landscapes".

So if some of you are near Hong Kong in June 27, the exhibition will last for a month. I encourage you to drop by the gallery and you will see my artworks live.

I may not be able to make this, though I would dearly love to. I certainly agree that this is your year. Congratulations, again, on your hard work and devotion to the arts. The two pieces you did for this exhibition are wonderful! My blessings to you, dear lady.
