"Well I'll be damned Here comes your ghost again But that's not unusual It's just that the moon is full And you happened to call And here I sit Hand on the telephone Hearing a voice I'd known A couple of light years ago Heading straight for a fall As I remember your eyes Were bluer than robin's eggs My poetry was lousy you said Where are you calling from? A booth in the midwest Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks You brought me something We both know what memories can bring They bring diamonds and rust Well you burst on the scene Already a legend The unwashed phenomenon The original vagabond You strayed into my arms And there you stayed Temporarily lost at sea The Madonna was yours for free Yes the girl on the half-shell Would keep you unharmed Now I see you standing With brown leaves falling around And snow in your hair Now you're smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel Over Washington Square Our breath comes out white clouds Mingles and hangs in the air Speaking strictly for me We both could have died then and there Now you're telling me You're not nostalgic Then give me another word for it You who are so good with words And at keeping things vague Because I need some of that vagueness now It's all come back too clearly Yes I loved you dearly And if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid" -lyrics of the original song- Joan Baez is known as a songwriter with a strong compromise with her ideals and the whole world. However, her most famous song is "Diamonds & Rust", a simple but emotive song of love and memories that are brought to her mind after a phone call. Years later, a heavy metal band, Judas Priest, made their particular cover. Two different styles for a great song.

"Finished with my woman cause she couldn't help me with my mind! people think i'm insane because I am frowning all the time! All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy Think I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify Can you help me, occupy my brain? Oh yeah! I need someone to show me the things in life that I can't find I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it's too late" -lyrics of the original song- You can find this old song of Black Sabbath in the new album of Ozzy called: "Diary Of A Madman (Legacy Edition)". "Dear darkness Dear darkness Won't you cover, cover Me again? Dear darkness Dear I've been your friend For many years Won't you do this for me? Dearest darkness And cover me from the sun And the words tightening The words are tightening Around my throat And, and... Around the throat of the one I love Tightening, tightening, tightening Around the throat of the one I love Tightening, tightening, tightening Dear darkness Dear darkness Now it's your time to look after us 'Cause we kept you clothed We kept in business When everyone else was having good luck So now it's your time Time to pay To pay me and the one I love With the worldly goods you've stashed away With all the things you Took from us" -lyrics of the original song- This hypnotic song "Dear Darkness" belongs to PJ Harvey and you can find it in her album "White Chalk". "Used to be so easy to give my heart away But I found out the hard way There's a price you have to pay I found out that love was no friend of mine I should have known time after time So long, it was so long ago But I've still got the blues for you Used to be so easy to fall in love again But I found out the hard way It's a road that leads to pain I found that love was more than just a game You're playin' to win But you lose just the same So long, it was so long ago But I've still got the blues for you So many years since I've seen your face Here in my heart, there's an empty space Where you used to be So long, it was so long ago But I've still got the blues for you Though the days come and go There is one thing I know I've still got the blues for you." -lyrics of the original song- Since this February Gary Moore had left us, this blues is most sad that ever. Gary Moore was the guitar of the mythical band Thin Lizzy and one of the most virtuous guitar player. With him dies a legend of Rock and Blues. In a hotel room of my country, Spain, a star has traveled to far lands, to make others enjoy his music...

"My love said to me My Mother won't mind And me Father won't slight you For your lack of kind Then she stepped away from me And this she did say It will not be long love Till our wedding day She stepped away from me And she moved through the fair And fondly I watched her Move here and move there She went her way homeward With one star awake As the swans in the evening Move over the lake The people were saying No two e'er were wed But one has a sorrow That never was said And she smiled as she passed me With her goods and her gear And that was the last That I saw of my dear. I dreamed it last night That my true love came in So softly she entered Her feet made no din she came close beside me And this she did say It will not be long love Till our wedding day." -lyrics of the original song- Searching for music for inspiring me in my artworks, I found this awesome singer, composer, harpist, accordionist and pianist, called Loreena McKennitt. "We're gonna have a gothic christmas; that is what we'll do We're gonna have a gothic christmas; hope you'll have one too Santa's going to wear a black dress just for me and you. Santa's going to grunt in latin and slay a dragon or two. Rudolph, he will change his name 'Cause rudolph just sounds pretty lame. Now we'll call him Ragnagord, the evil reindeer overlord. His nose it shall be red no more. It will be blackened to the core. His eyes will glow an evil glow to guide the chariot through the snow. We want to wish you a gothic christmas. We want to wish you a gothic christmas. We want to wish you a gothic christmas. We want to wish you a gothic christmas. We're gonna have a gothic christmas; that is what we'll do. Ronnie James Dio died recently on May 16th, 2010, of a stomach cancer, and with him one of the most emblematic voices of heavy metal died too. His real name was Ronald James Padabona, and was born on 10th of June, 1942, in Postmouth (New Hampshire, USA). His origins were Italian. Although he always had a great interest for baseball, his father felt that his son had great musical ability. So when he was 5 years old they gave him a trumpet as present. Dio was an excellent trumpeter, and he even played with Cortland High Jazz Band. Due to his skills as trumpeter he got a grant for going to Julliard music academy. But with the raise of Rock, Dio abandoned Jazz. In this moment he felt more inclined to play the guitar, bass or the keyboards. In 1957 he founded his first own band, and adopted the name of Dio, that came from a gangsters book. At the end of the '60s, his old band was renamed as "The Elves", and soon it was changed to "Elf". In 1971 Ian Paice and Roger Glover (Deep Purple) saw a performance by Elf, and offered to produce an album for Dio's band. They made a tour with Deep Purple. And Richie Blackmore recorded an album with them. Blackmore left Deep Purple and Rainbow was born, the mythical and legendary rock band. The voice of Dio became one of the most representative of rock. During the end of the '70s and beginning of the '80s, Ozzy Ousburne's health became worse due to his addiction to alcohol, and other substances, that brought him to a hard rehabilitation treatment. The substitute of Ozzy in Black Sabbath was Dio. The charisma of Ronnie James gave origin to Dio (the band). Dio left legendary albums in the history of rock. The figure of Dio, his voice, his evolution in the world of metal, will last forever in History. I must say that I saw Dio in a concert, and he left a profound impression on me. He was a men of a very short stature, and when he started to sing (oh my Gosh!)... he had one of the most powerful voices that I've heard. I felt impressed not only for his voice. Dio looked like a fantasy being, an elf, someone emerged from the depth of a forest, of extraordinary politeness, and with a special way of moving. Today he is not with us, but as all the big artists his talent will remain with us forever.

"Christine In sleep He sang to me In Dreams He Came The Voice which calls to me And speaks my name And do I dream again For now I find The phantom of the opera is there inside my mind Phantom Sing once again with me Our strange duet My power over you Grows stronger yet and though you turn from me you'll glance behind The Phantom of the opera is there inside your mind Christine Those who have seen your face Draw back in fear I am the mask you wear Phantom It's me they hear Together My/your spirit and your/my voice In one combined The phantom of the opera is there Inside your/my mind He's there the Phantom of the opera Beware the Phantom of the opera Phantom In all your fantasies You always knew that man of mystery Christine Were Both In You And in this labyrinth, where night is blind, The phantom of the opera is here inside your/my mind Phantom sing my angel of music Christine he's there.. The Phantom of the opera" -lyrics of the original song- The phantom of the opera is a gothic novel by the French author Gastón Leroux, has had many and different versions in music, movies, theater, series... The story shows the impossible love, the frustration, the pain of a lonely and unfortunate heart. The phantom of the opera is a talented compositor who lives under a theater of Paris, he is the author of all operas shown there, but nobody knows it. He hides his face with a mask, because he has a deformity. He rules in the shadows. One day he sees a substitute singer called Christine and falls in love. Since that time he tries to help her but she doesn't know. She thinks that an angel helps her. One night, the phantom provoked an accident, and Christine became of a substitute singer to a great star, thanks to the phantom. And begins one of the greatest and most tragic stories of love.

"I feel the ocean swaying me ... washing away all my pains. See where I was wounded, Remember the scar ? Now you can´t see a thing ... And I feel no pain Singing about the Valley of Sunsets Green and blue ... Canyons too Singing about Atlantis love songs. The Valleys of Neptune is arising. Mercury liquid ... Emerald´s shining Telling me where I came from Honey Sun ... Pourquise Bed he lays in ... on the Burning edge Horizon. I´m sailing on the Bluebird´s mission ... Bubble and curls and tiptoes in the foam See the wind make love to all the ocean ... Joy spread and the massage got home Singing about the Valley of Sunsets ... Purple and gold ... the Armies of the Lord Before ancient Egypt, there were moon trips ... The Valleys of Neptune is arising Look out East coast, but you´re gonna have a neighbor, A rebirth land ... the praying Burning Sands. We know there were worlds so much older ... And they shall rise, and tell us much more the truth of man -- I see visions of sleeping peaks erupting ... releasing all hell that will shake the Earth from end to end -- And this ain´t bad news, good news, or any news ... it´s just the truth, Better save your souls while you can Singing about the New Valleys of the Sunrise ... Rainbow clean, the world is gonna be ... Singing about getting ready for the new tide ... The Valleys of Neptune is arising" -lyrics of the original song- You can find this song "Valleys of Neptune" in the last compilation by Jimi Hendrix also called "Valleys of Neptune". Hendrix had been one of the most influential musician of the 20th century, but he sadly died in 1970. Sometimes I asked myself how had been his music career if he was alive, who knows? But nobody can take us the pleasure of listening to his music. I remember the first time that I heard his music. I was very young and was in a pub and I was talking about the great guitar player that Slash was. The barman said me "hear this"... And it was awesome.... Hendrix, a unique experience. Enjoy it!

"[Choir] I can feel a sorrow linger in my mind And the dark that follows Makes me falter in my life There's a darkness, there's a light A narrow path and a wide [Choir] There is no tomorrow for the lost and blind There's no glee, nor sorrow In the maelstrom of their minds There's an hour, there's a time Is this the end of the line? [Choir] There's a fire fading deep within Lost it's spark, it's will to be There are seven doors within my dreams I've found them all, but still no key [Choir]" -lyrics of the original song- You can find this song "The Mind Maelstrom" in the last album of Sirenia called "The 13th Floor" edited in April of this year. "Grinding my teeth, white knuckles grasp at the wheel I rush from an avalanche of adrenaline, it's all that I feel As quick as a bolt of lightning, a rocket ride in a bucket seat It doesn't get any better than this, it just feeds my need for speed Supercharged, strapped in and screaming Fire spiting from the pipes A burnout by the flame throwing fury 8, 000 horses ignite Full throttle, hit the ground running With a tank full of nitro And it's 1, 320' to go to the finish line My hands hold tight, a fire breathing stampede I fall into a trance, hold my breath till the light turns green In a cloud of nitro methane, melting rubber, I say my prayers Man and machine accelerate and I vanish in thin air Supercharged, strapped in and screaming Fire spiting from the pipes A burnout by the flame throwing fury 8, 000 horses ignite Full throttle, hit the ground running With a tank full of nitro And it's 1, 320' to go to the finish line" -lyrics of the original song- This song "1,320' " belongs to the latest album of Megadeth called "Endgame" released in September of this year. The album has 11 songs, and is a work with the classic style of Dave Mustaine, so he will not disappoint the fans of this great band. Enjoy it!

"Sometimes the wonder or I am not afraid Or understanding then all this heavy rain And they wonder, yes they wonder Yeah, they do Sometimes they wonder if I will never break For these burnings and all this heavy pain And they wonder, yes they wonder What I told There is a power not from this world I've found the power, a higher power I'm walking with the angel Walking with the angel I'm talking with the angel too I'm walking with the angels Walking with the angels And they pull me through the darkness too I've been traveling the dark and deadly road Sometimes so lonely, but never really alone No wonder I've been under the wings of a godless soul I turn the secrets that I found out for sure I wanna show you this heaven's guidance too Don't wonder, no, no wonder I can prove you that is true There is a power not from this world I've found the power, a higher power I'm walking with the angels Walking with the angels I'm talking with the angel too I'm walking with the angels Walking with the angels And they're watching over me and you There is a power not from this world I've found the power, a higher power I'm walking with the angels Walking with the angels I'm talking with the angel too I'm walking with the angels Walking with the angels And they're watching over me and you I'm walking with the angels I'm walking with the angel I'm talking with the angels I'm talking with an angel And they're watching over me and you I'm talking with the angels I'm talking with the angels I'm walking with the angels I'm walking with the angel too I'm talking with the angels Talking with the angels too Walking with the angels Walking with the angels I’m talking with the angels too Walking with the angels" -lyrics of the original song- This song "Walking with the Angels" belongs to the latest album of Doro Pesch called "Fear No Evil", edited in February of this year, and I think one of the most important of the career of the brilliant German singer Doro. This song of Doro in collaboration with Tarja Turunen (ex NightWish) shows two great voices, the most greatest of female rock. Enjoy it.
