I'm so excited with my next exhibition... It will be in Morocco, in Taza city, from 27 to 30 June, in the "TAZA International Fair of Contemporary Art". Taza is 460 Kms away from Casablanca. Taza has one of the most awesome natural attraction in Morocco, the caves of Friouato, that are many kilometers long, and the deepest part is 150 feet deep. Gruta del Friuato, by Novomig Taza also has some monumental walls of the ancient city that look spectacular, as you see here: Taza, by Novomig Some days ago the commissaire of the "TAZA International Fair of Contemporary Art" wrote to me to ask me to be one of the participants of this important international art fair. I must remark the extraordinary kindness of Elmadani Belmadani, that made everything easy for me to send the works and that everything was perfectly organized. I'm very proud of taking part in this contemporary art fair, that will take place from 27 to 30 of June. I sent 3 of my artworks to Taza, and they arrived today. I made a special artwork dedicated to this event: Dreaming In The Fairies' World by Emma Alvarez The topic of this fair is "Art in the service of peace and coexistence", and will gather together professionals and experienced artists, collectors, galleries, auctioneers, art lovers and fans from all regions of the world. The fair is located in the very center of Taza, surrounded by monuments, waterfalls, and historic places. The sponsors of this event are Art Dubai - UAE, Friends Of Morocco -USA, amongst others. Kraken was a creature from the deep sea that belonged to Scandinavian and Finnish mythology. The Vikings described with fear a marine creature that emerged from the depths sinking ships and devouring mariners. For the Vikings, Kraken was a monster with so enormous size that his head can be mistook with an island, and was so big that when he submerged, he produced whirlpools that may make ships sink. These sea legends remained alive during centuries. In 1752 a Danish bishop assured that he had seen a horrible creature, some kind of giant squid that spat ink and dragged the ships to the ocean depths. In Jules Verne's famous book "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", he describes the attack of a giant octopus. In 1804, scientist Pierre Denys of Montfort recognized two species of giant octopus that were very similar to the Kraken of the Norse mythology. He even stated that up to 10 British ships were considered victims of the giant octopus. The British government denied these facts and the career of Montfort reached an end, and died in complete misery in Paris. Nowadays there are strong proofs of the existence of giant squids that reach 15 or 20 meters long approximately. But these creatures were not proven to be as aggressive to the point of sinking ships and devouring mariners. But anyway, Kraken will still be in the legends of the sea for a long time.

Last Saturday I went to see "Red Cliff", a movie of the Chinese film director John Woo. And I want to recommended it because it's a great film, visually excellent and with an interesting plot. The movie data are: Director: John Woo Screenwriter: Terence Chang, John Woo, Khan Chan, Kuo Cheng and Sheng Heyu Starring: Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Chang Chen, Zhao Wei, Hu Jun Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama This awesome film is an epic and historical drama based on a legendary 208 A.D. battle that heralded the end of the Han Dynasty. The scenes of the movie are really incredible, the battles are a show of perfectly organized strategies. The sceneries of the beautiful China, ships, palaces, the clothes... All perfectly well cared... There is a scene of this film that is really great, the camera records the flight of a dove crossing the sky. One can feel the sensation of flight. John Woo is without a doubt a very remarkable director. I never liked war movies, because war is the big fail of human communication, the worst of humanity, but there is a phrase at the end of the film when a character says something like "We won the war" and there is a vision of a lot of died soldiers and the main character says "No one has won today" and I think that phrase is the essence of a war. In a war nobody wins and everybody looses something or someone. There are other values in the film like friendship, honor, fidelity, that make this film something worth to watch, and then think in peace, in the power of talk and learn to try to get solutions, tolerance... Has someone thought how much could have humanity advanced if wars had not existed? If cities and civilizations had not been destroyed, built again, and again and again... Sometimes people talk about how an extraterrestrial civilizations that can travel to other planets may be. And I always thought that it should be non violent, because war and violence make us weak.

Slash's new album is called "Slash" and in this moment is a best seller all over the world. Slash has created an album with very influential musicians like Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister (Motörhead), Ian Astbury (The Cult), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave) or Fergie (Black Eyes Peas) amongst many others. The album has 14 songs. Slash is one of the most greatest guitar player and his taste to do collaborations is very well known, so this album could not be other way, an album made with friends. Two songs that stand out in this album are "Crucify The Dead" (featuring Ozzy Osbourne) and "Beautiful Dangerous" (featuring Fergie). In the video you can see the trailer of the album Slash. During this month, you can see some of my artworks in Arco de San Juan Hotel in Murcia city (Spain). Actually, it was going to be in the month of September, but the artist that had to make an exhibition this month (April) had a baby 2 days before that. So I had to prepare the exhibition in a very short time. The exhibition is in Murcia, the seventh largest city in Spain. It was founded by the Moors in 825 CE. It's original name was Medina Mursiya. The founder of the city was Abderraman II. It is the statue with which I made the photo (LOL!). Me and Abderraman II :D Unfortunately we had very little time and I couldn't make too much photos. But the city has a big quantity of baroque buildings. And the Cathedral is something very impressive. We passed by with our car and couldn't make a photo, but when I can I'll do it to show you. Murcia is a touristic and services place. It has a traditional agriculture that makes Murcia be called the Europe's orchard. The food of Murcia is excellent. The quality of their vegetables is well known in all Europe, and their traditional food is very good. If some day you visit Murcia, don't forget to eat the "pastel murciano", it's a bad vice, it's so tasty... The hotel "Arco de San Juan", where I am making the exhibition, is in the old part of the city, a very touristic area. It's is a four star hotel in the very cultural center of Murcia (Spain), near the Cathedral. The hotel is a XVIII Neoclassical palace that was property of the Count of Floridablanca, and has received numerous architectural acknowledgments and awards. This is the hotel "Arco de San Juan" The exhibition will be through May, and is open to the public during the hotel's working hours. It's always a lovely experience to see the reactions of people with my work. I could talk to some people of Murcia there, and they were very kind to me. It's also very lovely to share this with you.
